Hale Kipa’s Resource Caregivers who provide foster care to Hawaii’s youth are categorized as extraordinary. Because of their dedication and compassion, we could nickname their duties as extreme parenting!
May is National Foster Care Appreciation Month. We recognize Hale Kipa’s foster parents for opening up their hearts and sharing their homes. On Oahu, there are 15 licensed homes and in Hilo, there are six. The combined 21 homes are trained to provide care to youth referred by the Department of Health. We service children ages three to 18 years old until the youth is reunified with their biological family or permanent placement is found. During their stay in foster care, youth learn social and life skills in the family setting. They also receive therapeutic services to make them better equipped to endure life’s challenges.
We praise our families for providing a loving and nurturing home. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a foster parent, please contact Tanya Williams at 589-1829 x407.
Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world.
For, indeed, that’s all who ever have.
