Hale Kipa’s Youth Outreach Program (YO!) participated in the 2016 Honolulu Pride™ Festival on Oct. 22, 2016, with an informational booth in Waikiki.
YO! staff distributed free goodies and enjoyed speaking with event participants. Since 1989, Hale Kipa and Waikiki Health have been providing services to the homeless, runaway and street identified youth and young adults on Oahu through YO! It provides street outreach, drop-in services, case management, and health and medical services to youth from referrals or on a walk-in basis.
The Honolulu Pride™ Festival brings together Hawaii’s diverse and vital LGBT community, friends, families and allies in two weeks of festivities celebrating bonds of friendship and aloha. It is organized by the Hawaii LGBT Legacy Foundation. This year’s festival drew 15,000 people and included a variety of entertainment options.
