We are proud to announce that Hale Kipa has recently received a $100,000, 4-year grant from the HEI Charitable Foundation. The HEI family of companies includes the Hawaiian Electric Companies and American Savings Bank.
The grant supports Hale Kipa’s capital campaign to build a best-in-class complex on 4.26 acres located on Old Fort Weaver Road in Ewa that will serve as the agency’s headquarters. This location will consolidate Hale Kipa’s programs and operations to improve service quality, reduce costs and build a sense of place in West Oahu.
Through the generous support of individual donors, businesses and organizations, as well as the State of Hawaii, Hale Kipa has raised more than $6 million in funds and committed support to build the $11.05 million complex. The LEED-certified design includes residential shelters, a service center and multipurpose education administration building, and is projected to generate operating cost savings of at least $100,000 per year.
This coordinated, community-based location will elevate the agency’s ability to improve the lives of Hawaii’s youth for decades to come.
