Hale Kipa is pleased to welcome Gwen Okamoto as chief financial officer.
Okamoto has more than 25 years of experience as a chief financial officer, most recently at the Hawaiian Humane Society. She previously served as the CFO and controller at Pacific Resources for Education and Learning (PREL), which provides educational research and training to the Pacific Islands. She also oversaw the information technology and human resources operations of both organizations.
Her background includes financial and risk analysis; corporate and project reporting and budgeting; cash and investment management; policy and procedure development; and contract and grant compliance.
Okamoto served as an assistant vice president and controller at East West Bank in Honolulu and worked in public accounting in California after graduating from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
