On February 22, 2025, Hale Kipa hosted its Fifth Annual Pāʻina Fundraising Dinner at the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Hoʻokupu Center. This year’s theme, Kūkulu ʻana I ke Kaiāulu—Building Communities Together, emphasizes the vital role each of you play in nurturing the success of our youth, young adults, and communities. Without the unwavering support of our community—you—our mission of empowerment would not be possible.
At this evening’s gathering, for the first time, we proudly presented three awards.
The Hale Kipa 2025 Keholo Award was given to Chance, one of Hale Kipa’s young adults, in recognition of his courage, hard work, and resilience. You can read more about Chance’s inspiring journey to independence in Hale Kipa’s 2024 Annual Report here.
The Hale Kipa 2025 Kahiau Awards were presented to Aunty Arma Oana and Aunty Kanani Kahana-Reid for their unwavering generosity and dedication to supporting our community. Their informal network, affectionately known as Kūpuna Kan, has been instrumental in fostering a sense of belonging and support.
The Hale Kipa 2025 Hoʻopapa Award was given to the Hauʻoli Mau Loa Foundation for their steadfast commitment to restoring the well-being and resilience of Hawai‘i, its people, and ʻāina. We are deeply grateful for their enduring generosity and support.
Funds raised during this event will directly benefit Hawai‘i’s youth and families by providing vital services such as cultural enrichment, mental health support, and essential life skills. These programs lay the foundation for resilience, opportunity, and a brighter future for those we serve.
A heartfelt mahalo to our generous supporters, dedicated Board of Directors, and hardworking volunteers who made this event a resounding success. Your contributions are making a meaningful difference in the lives of Hawai‘i’s young people.
If you feel inspired to support Hawai‘i’s youth, we invite you to visit our donation page—every contribution, in any form, helps provide the resources and opportunities that create lasting change.
We look forward to seeing you next year at another memorable Pāʻina that benefits our community ʻohana.
