Light The World Giving Machine

This holiday season, from November 20 through January 2, you have a unique opportunity to make a difference through the Giving Machines, located in Center Court at Pearlridge Center Mauka.

These Giving Machines work like traditional vending machines — but with a meaningful twist. Instead of snacks or drinks, you “purchase” charitable donations. Each selection represents a contribution to an important cause, with options that directly support individuals and families in need.

One of the local organizations featured this year is Hale Kipa, a nonprofit serving Hawaiʻi’s youth and families for over 55 years. Donations to Hale Kipa through the Giving Machines will help provide essentials such as:

Hygiene Supplies – Provide personal care items for a youth in need.

HOLO Card – Offer reliable transportation to a youth in foster care with a public transit card.

Diploma Assistance – Help a youth in foster care earn a high school diploma through educational support.

Rental Starter Kit – Provide kitchen basics for a teen in foster care transitioning to independent living.

Driver’s Education – Support behind-the-wheel training for a teenager in foster care.

The Giving Machines are part of the global Light the World initiative, organized by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This movement encourages people everywhere to spread kindness and compassion through simple acts of service. Whether you’re looking to give back during the holidays or simply want to make a meaningful contribution, the Giving Machines offer an easy, accessible, and heartfelt way to help.

So, this season, look for the bright red Giving Machines in Center Court at Pearlridge Center Mauka. With just the push of a button, you can be that shining light in the life of a young person, offering not only material support, but also the gift of hope.
