Akoni Kanaele, PsyD., LMFT

Akoni is a dedicated professional with a wealth of experience in the mental health field. She has been a valued member of the Hale Kipa team since 2009, initially serving as a Mental Health Professional focusing on CAMHD contracts. Through her hard work and commitment, she obtained licensure in 2013, which led to advancement within the organization.

Akoni’s career progression includes positions such as Clinical Program Manager and Director of Clinical Programs, showcasing her leadership skills and expertise in the field. Her current role as Chief Clinical Officer highlights her strategic vision and ability to drive impactful change within the organization. Akoni holds a Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, specializing in trauma with an emphasis on historical, racial, and intergenerational trauma.
